News Alert: BPA and BPS Free Recently there have been reports in the news regarding the safety of BPA free products. Specifically, allegations that those products which are labeled as "BPA free" may contain Bisphenol S (BPS), which is said to cause estrogenic activity (EA). We at BIOS continue to be dedicated to providing consumers with safe, reliable, eco-friendly products. All BIOS H2O™ products made from Tritan™ plastic are both BPA and BPS free.
What is BPA? BPA (Bisphenol A) is an industrial chemical used to make a hard, clear plastic known as polycarbonate, which is used in many consumer products, including but not limited to, reusable food and drink containers, digital media, sports equipment, as well as many other day-to-day products such as dental sealants.
Do BIOS H2O™ bottles have BPA? All BIOS H2O™ bottles are BPA free, and labeled with our BPA free sticker. After extensive research and testing, BIOS H2O™ was the first to offer a BPA free plastic called “PETG”, which closely resembles the look and feel of polycarbonate. BIOS is happy to offer reusable bottles which provide a toxin-free, safe, and eco-friendly alternative to disposable bottles. With a wide range of plastic and stainless steel bottles, there’s surely a bottle for everyone!
Are BIOS H2O™ bottles free of EA? Yes. Our current plastic bottles are made from tested Tritan™ material, which is estrogenic and androgenic activity free.
Does the paint on BIOS H2O™ bottles contain lead? No. Our bottles have been tested to ensure that they are lead and cadmium free.
